Detailed Instructions for Writing Roof Inspection
Filling out the Roof Inspection form is a straightforward process that ensures all necessary information is collected for a thorough assessment. Follow these steps to complete the form accurately.
- Enter the Inspection Date at the top of the form.
- Fill in the Inspector name.
- Provide the Structure Information including Structure ID, Used For, Job No., Year Roof Applied, and Structure Description.
- Indicate whether the structure is Permanent or Temporary.
- Select the Building Type from the options: Single-family, Apartments, Multi-family, or Other.
- Complete the Resident Key Contact Name and the Owner/Mgr. Contact if different.
- Fill in the Structure Address, Owner/Mgr. Phone, Structure City/ST/Zip, and Owner/Mgr. E-Mail.
- Provide the Roofing Contractor Company information, including the company name, address, contact name, city/ST/ZIP, phone, and email.
- Briefly describe any Previous Maintenance and Repair Work done, including dates and who performed the work.
- Enter the Date of Last Inspection.
- Indicate if the roof is guaranteed by selecting Yes or No and attach a copy of the guarantee if applicable.
- Answer whether the occupancy or use of the building has changed since the last inspection.
- Note any changes, additions, or new penetrations made to the roof since the last inspection.
- Indicate if there has been any leakage and describe the conditions.
- State if any emergency repairs were performed and describe them.
- Complete the Code Condition section by marking the appropriate condition for each location listed, using G for Good, F for Fair, and P for Poor.
- Mark all items with the appropriate code on the roof plan grid.
- Keep copies of the inspection forms and any photographic or other evidence with the Roof Historical Record.
